On April
19, 1995, just after parents dropped their children off at the
day care center at the Murrah Federal
Building in downtown Oklahoma
City, a massive bomb inside a Ryder Rental Truck and
supplemental charges inside the building,
blew half of the nine-story building into oblivion, killing 168 people
and injuring hundreds of others.
“America is in serious decline,”
McVeigh wrote
to his local paper, The Lockport Union Sun and Journal. “We
have no proverbial tea to dump . Do we have to shed blood to reform the
current system?”
